I wish someone would explain to President Donald Trump how tariffs work because either he doesn’t know or doesn’t care how they affect the people not in his orbit. A tariff that he applies to any country requires that when goods arrive from this country into the United States it must be paid by the receiver of the goods. A 25-percent tariff has to be paid by whomever receives the tariffed goods and ultimately this most likely gets passed down to the consumer.

This is just one example why everyone in the U.S. needs to pay really close attention to everything our president and Elon Musk are saying and doing. I believe they are causing real harm to our country and the Republicans in Congress are not willing or are afraid to stand up to them. This includes Susan Collins who often says she is concerned but apparently isn’t concerned enough to speak up more loudly.
