A missing child was returned to a grateful family on Tuesday night after going missing in the evening.
Police were called at about 5:30 p.m. after family members noticed that the child was missing, Bangor police Sgt. Jason McAmbley said in a news release.
After a thorough search of the home, the Bangor Police Department, along with the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office and Maine Warden Service moved the search outdoors to the area of Essex Street and Church Road using a tracking dog and a drone.
The child was located at about 7:05 p.m., McAmbley said. He did not indicate the circumstances or where the child was found.
After a medical evaluation at the scene by members of the Bangor Fire Department, the child was turned over to their family, McAmbley said.
