Stephen (Steve) August was selected Maine County Commissioner of April in honor of his community service by Spirit of America Foundation’s Maine Chapter.
Steve became a commissioner of Sagadahoc County by appointment of the governor to fill a vacant slot and has been elected by the people to continue in that role.
He has been involved with Kennebec Estuary Land Trust for over a decade, first as a member of its finance committee and later as the organization’s treasurer.
Steve was a member of RSU 1 board for nine years, including about five years as its chair, and currently is on RSU 1’s finance committee.
He also has served as a trustee of Patten Free Library for almost a decade, including two years as its president.
