The two people killed in a fiery crash in Readfield have been identified.
Carl Hall, 25, of Mount Vernon and his passenger, 28-year-old Emily Ouellette of Auburn, allegedly passed a Maine state trooper in a Ford Flex SUV on North Road at speeds exceeding 70 mph on April 21, according to Lt. J. Chris Read of the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office, which released their identities Wednesday.
Hall and Ouellette crash about 12:52 a.m. on Main Street.
The trooper was looking for the vehicle when the officer came upon the crash scene.
Both Hall and Ouellette were found dead inside the burning wreckage.
Investigators believe Hall lost control because of his speed before he went off the road and crashed into a tree.
