A man has been accused of slashing the base of another man’s head in Portland.
Jay Larose, 57, was charged with elevated aggravated assault, according to Brad Nadeau, a spokesperson for the Portland Police Department.
Larose allegedly slashed the base of a 56-year-old man’s skull at Elena’s Way on Portland Street about 9:16 p.m. Thursday.
The man was taken to Maine Medical Center, where he was treated for injuries not considered life-threatening.
Larose was arrested after a brief investigation.
