A duo wanted for murder in Texas have been arrested in Maine.
Avery E. Stemmons, 22, and Karina Gonzalez, 21, both of Killeen, Texas, were spotted Tuesday walking on York Street in York, according to the York Police Department.
Stemmons and Gonzalez were wanted in Texas on charges of murder, arson and abuse of a corpse, York police said.
When approached by officers, they were cooperative and detained. Police recovered a gun that may have been used in the Texas slaying.
Stemmons and Gonzalez were being held at the York County Jail in Alfred as fugitives from justice.
No additional information was immediately available.
