I would like to commend John Coleman for sharing his thoughts on why Maine’s more financially secure should be willing to pay appropriately higher taxes. His column included wisdom as well as common sense, with a dose of self-effacement.

The high road is better than name calling and baiting, and the message could not be more timely. The absence of mean spiritedness is refreshing and badly needed.
