This house just outside of Augusta would be the perfect place to throw a summer pool party.

The house itself has more than 3,100 square feet of living space with five bedrooms, two bathrooms and a large kitchen. However, the 17,000-square-foot backyard full of amenities is what makes it “a very unusual property,” said listing agent John Blouin of LAER Realty Partners.

Priced at $595,000, the property’s backyard is surrounded by a 10-foot fence and has a salt water in-ground pool with a slide and diving board. There’s also a hot tub and a waterfall designed by a Canadian artist, Blouin said.

“The backyard is amazing,” Blouin said. “It’s like being transported to a luxury resort or a villa.”

For those not interested in swimming, there’s a stone pavilion and cabana that covers an outdoor kitchen and fireplace with a space for a television. The backyard also features a fire pit, raised garden beds and an 18-by-25-foot greenhouse.

The home is perfect for a large family or those who love to entertain, as there’s plenty of space for guests to spread out and relax, Blouin said.

The property was once owned by Canadian country music singer Debbie Myers who held gatherings for up to 100 people in the backyard, according to Blouin.

The property sits on more than 5 acres at the end of a cul-de-sac on Nash Drive in Chelsea, giving it privacy while also being a seven-minute drive from downtown Augusta.

The house’s living room features a gas fireplace and connects to a raised deck that overlooks the expansive backyard.

The attached two-car garage has a basement that once held a home salon, but is used by the current owner as an office, Blouin said.
