A man was airlifted to a Bangor hospital Wednesday after a serious collision in Waterville.

A 16-year-old was driving a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu on Kennedy Memorial Drive about 8:15 a.m. when he tried to make a left-hand turn onto First Park Drive, according to the Waterville Police Department.

As he made the turn, the teen collided with a Ford F-150 driven by a 62-year-old woman, Waterville police said.

The crash left the teen’s 58-year-old passenger with life-threatening injuries. The man was flown to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.

The investigation is ongoing.
