An Eddington woman is dead after a crash late Wednesday morning.

At 11:45 a.m., a deputy from the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office came upon the crash that appeared to have just happened, according to the sheriff’s office.

Police did not say where the crash occurred, and the BDN was not immediately able to reach the sheriff’s office.

A Toyota Rav 4 had struck a tree, and the driver, a 25-year-old Eddington woman, was found dead inside, the sheriff’s office said.

Sheriff’s office detectives, drone team and forensic mapper are investigating the cause of the crash.
