A Portland man allegedly stabbed another man in the neck last month.
Hector Roman, 42, has been charged with elevated aggravated assault and aggravated assault, according to Brad Nadeau, a spokesperson for the Portland Police Department.
Roman and a 21-year-old man got into an altercation on Preble Street about 8:02 p.m. June 28 when Roman allegedly stabbed the other man in the neck.
He then fled before police arrived.
The victim was taken to Maine Medical Center, where he was treated for injuries not considered life-threatening, Nadeau said Wednesday morning.
Police tracked down Roman and arrested him on Tuesday after he allegedly tried to flee from officers, according to Nadeau.
He was taken to the Cumberland County Jail.
