Firefighters on Monday continued to work to contain a forest fire in the Down East town of Baileyville.

As of midday Monday, Maine Forest Service rangers estimated the Track Fire covered 30 acres and was 20 percent contained.

“Crews are currently working on installing saw lines and a hose lay. A dozer line was constructed overnight and a burnout operation was conducted to clean up the fire’s edge,” the rangers said in a Facebook post.
