Linscott Berry

Christopher Anderson, president of F.A. Peabody Insurance is pleased to announce the expansion of its retail insurance operations to the Ellsworth/Downeast area with the hiring of Lacy Linscott Berry.

While FAPCO has been serving all of Maine with insurance products for nearly 100 years, the addition of Linscott Berry to the team will position the company to directly provide its property casualty services to the greater Ellsworth/Downeast areas of Maine.  Linscott Berry’s versatility and broad experience in the insurance industry provide the necessary tools to be successful in this new venture.

Linscott Berry graduated from the University of Maine with a bachelor of science in 2012. While in school she worked for Bar Harbor Bank & Trust in Ellsworth, gaining valuable knowledge about the financial services industry. After graduation, she joined Merchant Needham Insurance Agency of Northeast Harbor in 2013 as a customer service representative earning a property casualty insurance license shortly thereafter. Linscott Berry was then hired by the J. T. Rosborough Agency of Ellsworth to become an account manager handling both personal and commercial insurance.

By 2018 she was promoted to chief financial & operations officer handling all aspects of agency management including the implementation of best practices to standardize internal processes and procedures. In 2019  Linscott Berry earned the Certified Insurance Counselor designation. CIC is a five-part rigorous curriculum administered by the Risk & Insurance Education Alliance. Linscott Berry also obtained a life and health insurance license in 2021 to further diversify her portfolio of insurance qualifications.

F. A. Peabody has explored expansion into the Ellsworth/Downeast region in the past due to its proximity to the agency’s current branch footprint in Hampden and Calais, the ability to extend the FAPCO brand using overlapping media outlets plus our existing staff is familiar with the industries of the region and knowledge about the Downeast communities’ insurance needs.

“In the past, we lacked the presence of a highly accomplished and motivated insurance professional located in that specific area to lead the effort,” explains Anderson. “Lacy has the talent, discipline, know-how and drive to pull all this together. We are excited she is interested in joining our firm to tackle this opportunity.”

Linscott Berry will initially be working from her home in Surry as a commercial customer service agent helping FAPCO manage its growing commercial business in other departments across the state as we begin to explore retail opportunities in and around the local area. This new operation will be directly managed by the Hampden District management team under the leadership of Ken White, WCP and vice president of sales for the company.

“Our client base has been growing steadily in the Downeast region. Lacy is the perfect addition to the agency to help us with this next step of staffing a local office. She knows the area and the people well and she’s an excellent insurance agent. We couldn’t be more pleased to have her as part of our team!,” exclaims White.

“I’m excited to step into this new role at F.A. Peabody and help build a team that is committed to making a positive impact on our community by ensuring that our friends, families, neighbors and business owners are supported with exceptional service and personalized insurance protection,” says Linscott Berry.

The F.A. Peabody Company was founded in 1927 in Houlton, Maine. Over its rich, 98-year history the firm has grown additional branch offices in Madawaska, Caribou, Presque Isle, Mars Hill, Sherman, Lincoln, Calais, Hampden, Westbrook, Millinocket, Milo and Palermo. The company operates a life & benefits department; owns a third-party administration organization, FAPCO Administrative Services; and a broadband internet provider, Pioneer Broadband.
