Belfast police have arrested a Camden man on charges that he allegedly sexually assaulted a girl in his van early Friday morning, according to a press release.

Thomas Massey VI, 42, was charged with unlawful sexual touching, operating under the influence of alcohol, criminal restraint, and furnishing or allowing consumption of alcohol by persons prohibited, according to Belfast Police Chief Robert Cormier.

Just before 4 a.m., police received a 911 call about a man allegedly offering people $100 to get in his van on Front Street, Cormier said. When officers arrived, witnesses alleged that the driver had sexually assaulted their friend, a female minor who had gone inside the van.

Police arrested Massey a short time later after stopping a white Ford van that matched the description and finding the girl in the back of the vehicle, according to Cormier. He appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.
