He was out on probation in Maine for robbery, and now faces a charge of probation violation, the Marshals Service said Wednesday morning.
Bailey allegedly assaulted the child in Peabody, Massachusetts, before fleeing in a vehicle belonging to the child’s mother. The Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office found the stolen vehicle several weeks ago.
He was tracked down Tuesday morning to a home in Lewiston, where police forced their way in and arrested Bailey.
Bailey has been charged as a fugitive from justice and awaits extradition back to Massachusetts.
