Here we are, we have a government shutdown along with a toxic, divisive, and corrupt Republican president. This president has been dismantling rights, departments and services every single week since he took office — without regard for citizens, climate change, much-needed immigrants, or healthcare. A shutdown gives him even more latitude to return this country to an imaginary golden age dominated by robber barons and racists.
I believe Republicans in Congress own both this shutdown and the results of enabling this disastrous president. Shame on them all, including Sen. Susan Collins.
