Polls have closed across the state, as Mainers voted on two referendums and local races, including a competitive Bangor City Council contest and a controversial budget question in Washington County.
The first statewide referendum question would add voter ID requirements and limit absentee voting, while Question 2 would implement a red flag to make it easier for firearms to be temporarily taken away from people who pose a significant danger.
The Bangor Daily News began publishing elections results from municipalities after polls closed at 8 p.m.
