For the first time in his young NBA career, Cooper Flagg will miss a game.

The 18-year-old rookie will not play for the Dallas Mavericks in Wednesday night’s contest against the New York Knicks due to illness, according to a report from ESPN.

Sources told ESPN that Flagg would miss the game after being added to the injury report on Wednesday morning.

Flagg had played and started in each of the Mavericks’ first 15 games prior to Wednesday, averaging a team-leading 33.7 minutes per game and also leading all Dallas scorers with 15.5 points per game.

The Mavericks have started the season with a 4-11 record as injuries continue to plague multiple players on the roster. Star guard Kyrie Irving is still recovering from a knee injury, and big man Anthony Davis continues to miss time with a calf strain.

Dallas is hosting New York on Wednesday night at 9:30 p.m.
