Two people have been accused of drug trafficking out of a short-term rental in Ellsworth.

Alyssa Powell, 35, was charged with aggravated drug trafficking, drug trafficking and violating her conditions of release, while Darrell Thurston, 55, was charged with aggravated drug trafficking and drug trafficking, according to the Ellsworth Police Department.

Police on Sunday learned about alleged suspicious activity at a short-term rental in the city. After an investigation, police learned that Powell, who was renting the room, had three warrants for her arrest for not appearing in court.

A subsequent search of the room turned up 110 grams of suspected fentanyl and more than 85 grams of suspected crack cocaine, according to Ellsworth police.

The investigation is ongoing.
