The arctic blast that swept through Maine Thursday evening brought extreme wind chills across much of the state. 

According to the National Weather Service, a wind chill of negative 30 was recorded in Frenchville. That wind chill was the coldest recorded in Maine Thursday night. Caribou saw a wind chill of minus 23, and Houlton and Presque Isle both saw wind chills of negative 21.
