I want to express my sincere appreciation for Sen. Susan Collins and for the way she continues to stand up for the people of Aroostook County. No matter how busy her schedule is in Washington, she always finds the time to come back to the County, where she was born and raised, and meet with local leaders, and listen directly to the people she represents.
During her recent visits to the Central Aroostook Ambulance Service, Northern Light AR Gould Hospital, and the Maine Veterans Home in Caribou, Collins once again demonstrated her commitment to the communities that shaped her. Whether it is supporting first responders, strengthening health care in rural Maine, or standing with our veterans, she shows up, she listens and she takes action.
What stands out most to me is that Collins never forgets who she is working for. Her visits were not about politics or photo ops. They were about making sure that the needs of Aroostook County are heard in Washington, D.C., and addressed with real solutions. In a time when many feel that Washington is too far removed from everyday life, Collins continues to bridge that gap through hard work and genuine care for the people she serves.
She delivers because she knows this county, she understands its challenges and its strengths, and she never stops working to make life better for those who live here. That is why I believe we need Sen. Susan Collins in Washington, D.C. Because she never forgets where she came from and she never stops working for Maine.
