A 14-year-old Windham high schooler allegedly was plotting to get weapons and making a list of potential targets.

Students alerted police Tuesday that the boy was allegedly researching how to acquire weapons and had compiled a “narrowly focused” list of people who he may have intended to target, according to Windham police Chief Kevin Schofield.

The teen has been charged with criminal solicitation, criminal conspiracy and terrorizing.

The boy has been placed under house arrest and is banned from entering Regional School Unit 14 property, Schofield said Thursday.

“The Police Department extends its gratitude to the students who promptly reported this matter; their actions were instrumental in ensuring the safety and security of everyone within this high school community,” Schofield said.

The investigation is ongoing, but Scofield said that there’s no reason to believe students or staff are in danger.
