In his column of Dec. 13-14, Robert Klose takes to task powerful institutions for caving to threats from President Donald Trump, and he’s right to do so.

But it should be said that ordinary Americans are standing up and speaking out, by the millions — at massive Hands Off and No Kings rallies, at smaller but consistent weekly vigils, at state capitols ( Indiana, anyone?), and, of course, via numerous letters and columns in the Bangor Daily News.
