A woman allegedly fled to Maine to escape sex crime charges in Virginia.

Merveilles Saidi, 33, was wanted on three felony counts of sodomy against a child, according to the Westbrook Police Department.

Saidi was arrested Wednesday in Westbrook, where she was living, and charged as being a fugitive from justice, police said Sunday.

She was taken to the Cumberland County Jail in Portland, where she awaits extradition to Virginia.
