A man allegedly burglarized a Bangor business Sunday night.

Devin Pickard, 36, of Bangor has been charged with burglary, theft by unauthorized taking, refusing to submit to arrest and criminal mischief, according to Sgt. Jeremy Brock, a spokesperson for the Bangor Police Department.

Pickard allegedly set off an alarm about 9:53 p.m. during a break-in at a business on Park Street.

While an officer was checking on the alarm, Pickard allegedly fled from the building, the crunch of breaking glass alerting the officer to his flight.

After a brief foot chase, Pickard was taken into custody, Brock said Monday morning.

A bag containing stolen items was found near a broken window into the business.

Pickard was taken to the Penobscot County Jail.
