OLD ORCHARD BEACH — On Thursday, Jan. 1 hundreds of participants will ring in the New Year by running into the Atlantic Ocean in front of The Brunswick during the 2026 Lobster Dip, a benefit for Special Olympics Maine.
Now in its 38th year, the Lobster Dip is Special Olympics Maine’s largest one-day fundraiser. Proceeds support year-round sports training, athletic competition, health, and leadership programs for more than 5,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities across Maine.

Registration & check-in: 9 a.m.
Dip waves: 10:30 a.m. and 12 p.m.
Special Olympics Maine provides year-round sports training, athletic competition and health and leadership programs at no cost to children and adults with intellectual disabilities across the state.
