A man was injured in a Sunday evening hit-and-run crash in Portland.
The 25-year-old was crossing Riverside Street in a marked crosswalk, near the Homeless Service Center, where he was staying, about 6:48 p.m. when he was hit by a silver SUV, according to Brad Nadeau, a spokesperson for the Portland Police Department.
The SUV’s driver stopped briefly before allegedly fleeing.
Nadeau said Monday morning that the victim was taken to Maine Medical Center for treatment of injuries not considered life-threatening.
The SUV is believed to be an older-model Honda CR-V.
