The University of Maine basketball team picked up the win over UMaine-Fort Kent on Tuesday afternoon to wrap up non-conference action, 104-66.

After a back-and-forth contest through the opening 12 minutes, the Black Bears began to pull away as they ended the first half on a 26-5 run to take a 54-32 lead into halftime.

Maine continued to pull ahead in the second half as they outscored UMFK 50-34 in the half, leading to a 104-66 victory.

Logan Carey ended with a career-high 26 points in 18 minutes of action. He was 11-for-12 from the field and added six rebounds and four assists.

Ryan Mabrey had 14 points while Keelan Steele had 11. Mekhi Gray had a career-best eight assists.

All 12 Black Bears that saw action scored at least two points on the afternoon. The Black Bears forced 25 turnovers.

The Black Bears (2-13) open up America East play on Saturday, Jan. 3 as they host the reigning champions in Bryant. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.
