A 47-year-old Woolwich man was killed Friday night when his vehicle left the Route 196 on-ramp and fell to the ground below, police said.
Brunswick police were called to the crash at about 7:30 p.m. They said the crash occurred when Shannon MacGregor was driving a 2013 Dodge Journey on the Route 196 on-ramp toward Route 1 northbound.
Police say MacGregor was going over the bridge when his vehicle went off the road, up an icy embankment, over the barrier and fell to the ground below.
MacGregor was pronounced dead at the scene.
A dog in the vehicle was injured and taken to emergency veterinary services and is expected to recover.
The Brunswick Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit is continuing the investigation.
