A Waterville man was arrested late last month during a series of raids that led to the seizure of 16 pounds of methamphetamine.

Andrew Symonevich, 48, has been charged with aggravated drug trafficking and illegal possession of a firearm, according to the Waterville Police Department.

Symonevich was arrested about 4 p.m. on Dec. 30, 2025, as police executed a series of search warrants, Waterville police said Tuesday.

During the raids, officers seized more than 16 pounds of meth, worth an estimated $100,000, as well as a gun.

Symonevich was taken to the Kennebec County Jail in Augusta, where his bail was set at $35,000.

“Targeting these source level traffickers is our ultimate goal, as their illicit drugs have a direct effect on our community’s safety and happiness. I am extremely proud of all of our folks whose hard work led to one of the largest illicit drug seizures in the State’s history,” Waterville Police Chief William Bonney said in a statement.

The investigation is ongoing.
