The bulk of Wednesday morning’s storm lost steam throughout the afternoon after dumping a mix of freezing rain, snow and sleet across Maine. Roads were messy early Wednesday morning, and conditions were slick throughout the day. 

Below is a list of preliminary snowfall totals from across the state. The National Weather Service office in Caribou released its latest figures at 4:26 p.m. Wednesday evening, while the weather service station in Gray released its report at 1:20 p.m.
