Someone shot up a newly built home in Alna that the owners had just closed.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a home being shot on Head Tide Hill Road around 4:15 p.m. Tuesday.
The sheriff’s office said the owners just closed on the newly built home the same day and were starting to move in.
There was no one home at the time of the shooting.
When the owners arrived with some of their belongings, deputies said they found six bullet holes in the side of the house facing the driveway. Some of the bullets went through windows into the home.
Some bullet fragments were recovered from the scene, and they appeared to be from a small caliber firearm, according to the sheriff’s office.
The sheriff’s office said the shooting appears to be an isolated incident and they do not believe there is any ongoing threat to the community.
