A pedestrian was hit by a Casella truck Thursday morning in Bangor.

The adult was crossing in a crosswalk at 7:44 a.m. near 435 Broadway when the person was hit by a Casella Waste Systems truck, Bangor police spokesperson Jeremy Brock said.

The pedestrian did not need to be taken to the hospital, Brock said.

The crash was near the Mary Snow School but did not involve a child, he said.

Casella is thankful the pedestrian doesn’t appear to have serious injuries, spokesperson Jeff Weld said. The company is cooperating with Bangor police, he said.

Video footage from the company’s cameras show what Casella believes is the driver acting appropriately and obeying all traffic laws, Weld said.

“We will take the opportunity to review all safe driving policies with our drivers as part of our commitment to safe driving protocol,” Weld said.
