A Bangor driver died after crashing into a tree in Levant on Wednesday.
Libby Toothaker, 28, crashed head-on into the tree at about 4:18 p.m. while driving near the intersection of Union Street and Stetson Road East, near Ollie’s Market, according to the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office.
First responders rendered first aid before taking Toothaker to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, where Toothaker succumbed to the injuries, the sheriff’s office said Friday.
The crash remains under investigation.
