A 19-year-old Connecticut woman died Saturday after her car crashed into a guardrail on the Falmouth Spur.
Joamaliz Orozco of East Hartford, Connecticut, was driving a white 2013 Subaru Impreza east on the Falmouth Spur near the on-ramp to Interstate 295 north when her car went off the road at about 1:57 p.m., according to Shannon Moss, a spokesperson for the Maine State Police.
Orozco was trapped inside her vehicle. She was taken to Maine Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
Weather and road conditions are thought to be the primary cause of the crash, Moss said.
Falmouth Fire and Rescue, the Maine Department of Transportation and Stewarts Towing assisted troopers at the scene.
