A woman was seriously injured Monday night in an explosion at her Friendship home.
The explosion happened about 9:44 p.m. at the North Harbor Cemetery Lane home, according to Shannon Moss, a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
When firefighters arrived, they found the woman outside the home and suffering from substantial life-threatening injuries, Moss said Tuesday morning.

She was flown to Maine Medical Center in Portland.
Investigators found the home had no electricity and she was using generators for power. The home was heated by a fireplace and propane gas was used for cooking. Investigators found numerous propane canisters of varying sizes around the home, according to Moss.
The investigation is ongoing.
