YARMOUTH – For over half a century, Maine Preservation has been dedicated to promoting and preserving Maine history not only to protect and honor the past but to revitalize and grow communities in the present and for the future.
Maine Preservation has partnered with hundreds of non-profit organizations, businesses and individuals to confront preservation challenges across Maine through advocating for measures that make it easier to rehabilitate and weatherize buildings in historic neighborhoods; operating programs that offer on-site guidance, planning assistance, and consultation about regional challenges; hosting free Q&A sessions; and so much more.
It’s an effort that has inspired Norway Savings Bank for years, including with a $5,000 donation this month.
“The generosity of Norway Savings Bank enables Maine Preservation to expand our innovative programs that have reached so many communities across the state,” said Tara Kelly, executive director of Maine Preservation. “We’re so thankful for everything NSB does to help preserve Maine’s historic places, buildings, downtowns, and neighborhoods. It makes an enormous difference.”
“It’s a great feeling to know that we are helping with the improvement of historic buildings that have served and will continue to serve as cultural and economic catalysts in the years ahead,” said Dan Walsh, president and CEO of Norway Savings Bank. “Maine Preservation is transforming and strengthening communities all over the state.”
