Sara Jenkins, chef and owner of Nina June in Rockport, is among the seven James Beard Awards semifinalists in Maine announced by the organization Wednesday.
Along with Jenkins, the others nominated for Best Chef in the Northeast category were Jeremy Broucek of Bread & Friends in Portland, Chris Gould of Central Provisions in Portland, Jake Stevens of Leeward in Portland and Thomas Takashi Cooke of Izakaya Minato in Portland.
Dana Street, who founded Fore Street, Scales and Standard Baking Co. in Portland, is an Outstanding Restaurateur semifinalist, and Night Moves Bread of South Portland was nominated for Outstanding Bakery.
