A man was arrested Thursday after he allegedly threatened his girlfriend and damaged property at their Cross Lake Township home.
Nicolas Dionne, 37, has been charged with domestic violence criminal threatening, domestic violence terrorizing and creating a police standoff, according to Shannon Moss, a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
The victim called 911 about 7:46 a.m. Thursday to report that Dionne was making threats and damaging property at their home, Moss said Friday.
She left the home before police arrived.
Dionne allegedly refused to come outside when troopers arrived, prompting a standoff. That came to an end about 8 p.m. when he walked out and was taken into custody, according to Moss.
He was taken to the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton.
The investigation is ongoing.
