An early Friday morning fire destroyed a home in Harpswell.
The fire broke out at the Hugh Avenue home about 2:40 a.m., according to Shannon Moss, a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
The home’s occupants escaped and alerted their next-door neighbors, who got out safely.
A man who lived in the burned home suffered a burn to his wrist and was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland.
No one else was injured.
The home was destroyed, while the neighboring residence sustained only a minor heat-related damage.
Investigators believe a generator and heater may have contributed to the fire.
The fire remains under investigation.
