The Maine Warden Service, with help from trained volunteers from the Maine Association of Search and Rescue, will search this weekend for a missing 19-year-old man in Orono.

Chance Lauer was last seen on Monday at the Orchard Trail Apartments, where he lives. Lauer is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, approximately 160 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes.

According to an Orono police flier, Lauer doesn’t have a vehicle, his wallet was found in his room and his cell phone is off.

Wardens plan to begin ground searches in the Orono area at 8 a.m. Saturday. Search efforts will include members of the Maine Warden Service and 10 K9 units from the Maine Warden Service and Maine Search and Rescue Dogs.

Due to the weekend’s bitter cold temperatures, officials are not requesting public volunteers at this time, Mark Latti, communications director for the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife, said in a press release.

Anyone with information about Lauer’s whereabouts is asked to contact Maine State Police Dispatch at 207-973-3700.
