Maine shivered through some of the coldest temperatures of the winter so far Saturday night and Sunday morning, with some northern areas dropping to 24 degrees below zero.
This comes as the state prepares for a major snowstorm expected to dump double-digit snowfall totals starting Sunday afternoon in southern areas, closer to midnight in northern Maine.
