Lee Goldberg has been selected a 2026 Maine Terrific Ten Broadcaster in honor of his community service by Spirit of America Foundation’s Maine Chapter.

Goldberg, with Channel 6/NewsCenter Maine since 1993, has been very involved in covering sports and currently serves as co-anchor of the station’s Morning Report.

In 2023 he launched his own nonprofit, Prostate Cancer Maine, to raise awareness of that disease following his own diagnosis with it. Goldberg has helped with Pints For Prostate fundraisers and on his broadcasts has been educating the public about that form of cancer, which 1 in 8 men will get.

He has done much to assist Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland, annually spending a night in its kennel to raise money for animal care — his sleep-in helped raise over $90,000 in 2025.

Goldberg has helped with the station’s telethons for Honor Flight Maine, Project Heat and Feed Maine and also with its annual Coats & Toys for Kids drive.

In spare time he has hosted and participated in American Red Cross blood drives to address the need for donations, has helped Maine Children’s Cancer Program, Sweetser, KIDS First, The Cromwell Center, The IRIS Network, Travis Mills Foundation and has spoken to a number of nonprofit groups.

Maine Spirit of America is a chapter of Spirit of America Foundation, an organization promoting community service.
