Police have found the van of a missing Hampden man.

Douglas Dunphy, 78, was driving a white Ford Econoline van, which has been recovered, according to the Maine State Police.

Dunphy’s family hasn’t seen or heard from him since early January, and the Hampden Department of Public Safety asked for the public’s help in locating him on Jan. 16.

Dunphy typically wears a black Carhartt jacket and blue cap. He stands 5-foot-10, weighs 210 pounds and has green eyes and gray hair.

Dunphy retired in 2015 after 35 years as mechanical superintendent of the Bangor Daily News.
