Sen. Susan Collins recently voted to invoke the War Powers Act should President Donald Trump attack Venezuela again. That’s good. It’s a start. But it’s not enough. More is needed.

Masked ICE agents are killing U.S. citizens in the street. They’re kidnapping perfectly legal immigrants and deporting them to foreign dungeons. They’re abducting children and separating families.

ICE is out of control. It has gone off the rails. And this week its funding is up for vote in the U.S. Senate. We here in Maine, and around the country, need Collins to recognize the danger here, take action and vote to defund the Department of Homeland Security.

I believe we need Susan Collins to stand up to the growing tyranny in this country. And if she’s not willing to do that, I think she should resign. Collins’ job is to defend the Constitution, and she should do it.
