Scoring 1,000 points over the course of a high school career has long been considered one of the most prestigious milestones in Maine high school basketball. And there has been no shortage of new additions to the 1,000-point club this season.

At least 16 players have hit the 1,000-point threshold so far in the 2025-26 campaign. The impressive list quite literally covers all corners of the state — spanning from Fort Kent to York, and Jackman to Eastport.

Here’s the list of girls and boys across Maine that the Bangor Daily News sports desk knows have reached 1,000 points at some point this season. If we’ve missed anyone, please let us know by emailing BDNsports@bangordailynews.com.

Jesse Booker, Bangor Christian

The senior forward scored his 1,000th point on Jan. 16 in a 105-13 win over Deer Isle-Stonington. Booker and the Patriots are 13-2 through the first 15 games of the season, and are well-positioned as one of the teams to beat in boys Class D North. Their only two losses have both been at the hands of Machias.

Senior guard Fitzsimmons has long led the Machias Bulldogs’ offense, and he eclipsed the 1,000-point mark in December. He and the Bulldogs were undefeated going into a Thursday night blockbuster matchup against Fort Kent.

Ava Lerman, Wisdom

Lerman was among the first talented scorers to join the 1,000-point club this season, achieving the feat in early December at the very start of Wisdom’s campaign in girls Class S North.

Megan House, Mattanawcook Academy

The Mattanawcook Academy Lynx of Lincoln have one of the most dominant teams in Maine girls basketball this year, and they also have two players in the 1,000-point club. Senior forward Addison Cyr already hit the mark last season, and senior guard Megan House joined her teammate this year.

Rylee Moulton, Penobscot Valley

Penobscot Valley senior guard Rylee Moulton already has a state championship as a member of last year’s Class C title team, and now she’s a member of the exclusive group of top scorers. Moulton got her 1,000th point in a Jan. 2 win over Schenck of East Millinocket.

James Witham, Mount Desert Island

Not many players score a 1,000 points in their career, and even fewer do so in their junior year. But James Witham of Mount Desert Island continues to prove that he is a rare kind of scorer. The junior guard surpasses 1,000-points in the Trojan’s Jan. 24 win over Presque Isle.

Kylie Lamson, Cheverus

Senior guard Kylie Lamson of Cheverus in Portland was already a member of last year’s BDN All-Maine team as a junior, and she added the 1,000-point club to her resume earlier this season.

Jonathan Andrews, Shead

Senior Jonathan Andrews of Shead High School in Eastport had himself a senior night, scoring his 1,000th point during those festivities.

Andrew Oliver, Mattanawcook Academy

As a junior, Andrew Oliver was instrumental in the Mattanawcook boys’ magical run to take home last year’s Class C North championship. And he’s picked up where he left off last year, helping the Lynx remain contenders this season and scoring his 1,000th point in the process.

Brady Gaw, Piscataquis Community School

Senior Brady Gaw notched his 1,000th point in the very first game of the season for Piscataquis Community School of Guilford.

Aden Jeffers, Fort Kent

Another of the few juniors on this list, Aden Jeffers of Fort Kent has repeatedly proved why he was on lots of people’s radar as one of the top players in the North region to start the season. Jeffers cemented his 1,000-point status with a steal and layup against Madawaska in early January.

Evan Monk, Woodland

The last of juniors to join the club so far this year, Evan Monk of Woodland in Baileyville crossed the 1,000-point threshold in late January.

Reece McDonald, York

At the southern end of the state, senior Reece McDonald added his name to the 1,000-point list as part of a stellar career of scoring for the York Wildcats.

Jaxson Desjardins, Forest Hills

The youngest, and perhaps most impressive entry on this list hails from the northwestern corner of the state. Playing for Forest Hills of Jackman, Jaxson Desjardins has managed to break into the 1,000-point club in just his sophomore season.

Adam Fitzgerald, South Portland

Scarborough senior captain Adam Fitzgerald joined the other 1,000-point scorers earlier this season.

Mia Mills, Jonesport-Beals

The senior guard entered a recent game against Searsport needing 17 points to reach 1,000 and ended up scoring 19 in the first half, according to WABI’s Ben Barr.
