A man went through the ice on a Monmouth lake on Monday night.
The man was riding the snowmobile on Annabessacook Lake about 10:30 p.m. when he became disoriented while searching for a trail on the lake’s south end, according to the Monmouth Fire Department.
He went through the ice, near the outlet to Jug Stream.
The man pulled himself from the water and reached the shore near the end of Larry Drive before rescuers arrived.
Firefighters retrieved the snowmobile from three to four feet of water just after midnight.
