Regarding the ICE actions in our community: When a person or persons defy a lawful order and operate a motor vehicle in a manner that may be interpreted as aggression, the driver has committed a crime, according to the law.
The ICE agents are following their orders. If a citizen does not want them to do so in their community, the citizen must go to the elected officials for their area and work to change the law.
It is never acceptable for a human being to lose his/her life at the hands of another human being, nor should it be. However, what would you do if threatened? Would you fight back? Would you allow someone to incur harm on you or your colleagues? Family?
I believe the actions being taken by the federal law enforcement officers are no different than those undertaken by multiple presidents in the last 30-plus years. I think the agents are vilified due to their association with a president who many find deplorable. Leave them out of the discussion and take action appropriately and change the law.
