Craig Colson has been selected a 2026 Maine Terrific Ten Broadcaster in honor of his community service by Spirit of America Foundation’s Maine Chapter.
Colson is co-anchor of “Good Morning Maine” at WVII in Bangor and has been with that television station or another for over 35 years.
He has personally participated in a variety of volunteer efforts, including clean-up work for Habitat of Greater Bangor, being in a dunk tank for Bangor Little League and much more.
Colson also has helped his station serve as a critical media partner for Maine-based charitable campaigns and he has played a key role in fundraising telethons.
Where Colson stands out from others: using his platform so effectively to aid a variety of charitable causes. For example, on his show he’s advocated for pancreatic cancer awareness, promoted Brick Church in Bangor (a local organization that seeks volunteers and donations for community support),and interviewed countless folks to help them publicize their altruistic efforts.
Colson is a very creative person; he instantly conceived the theme for Spirit of America Foundation’s public service announcement and arranged for that psa’s production.
He has done much more to help the cause of volunteerism than what is detailed in this write-up.
Maine Spirit of America is a chapter of Spirit of America Foundation, an organization promoting community service.
