How shocking, disturbing and disgusting it is to witness what is happening in America right now. The ruthless takeover of our once proud democracy has patriotic Americans in mourning.
What is most difficult for me to believe is that the “law and order” party, the “pro-life” party, the party that supposedly exemplified “family values,” chooses to do nothing as we watch a lawless administration tear families apart, toss innocent people into detention camps, and allow a band of thugs to threaten, terrorize, and even murder innocent Americans.
So it would seem that the Republican Party is no longer the law and order, pro-life, family values party. Or even the party that has pushed for a small, unintrusive federal government, or a balanced budget. Come to find out, the Republican Party, which has always proclaimed its great love for country and flag, has been pulling a fast one on the American people for years.
Who knows what the GOP really stands for. What we do know, though, is that in this hour of great need, Republican members of Congress are utterly failing to protect and defend the Constitution and the country, which they swore under oath to do when they were put into office.
We can only hope that there are still a few patriotic Republicans in Congress who will take a stand and work with Democrats to put a stop to the outrageous attacks on our democracy before it is too late.
